I like to picture this as an early Xanti refugee\u2019s oil painting of Mercasor. So, a painting from the perspective of somebody who is not yet \u201cat home\u201d at the island, living with one foot in the ship and one on shore, rose-tinted glasses on, but also off because terra incognita is scary. It\u2019s not how I usually portray the area (that\u2019s home!) so it was a fun challenge.<\/p>
